Q&A With Riley McCoy

1. What made you choose Roberts Forensic and crash reconstruction?

I had recently graduated from Boise State and was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for a career. Torrey and I had a mutual friend who told me Torrey was looking for a recently graduated mechanical engineer so I set up an interview to see what the job was about and here we are 4 years later.

 2. What has been your most interesting experience you've had over the past four years?

This is a hard question to answer because you see a lot of different things in this career. Some are a little tougher to stomach because we deal with a lot of fatalities, but it is interesting to see how some vehicles hold up in crashes versus other vehicles.

 3. What is your favorite thing about your job?

I like the flexibility that comes with this job. I also liked the fact that this wasn’t a typical engineering job and each crash reconstruction was different and required different methods to solve each problem.

 4. What are you looking forward to in the future with your job?

I look forward to learning and experimenting with the new technology that comes with this job. For example, we recently purchased a new drone that will be fun and exciting to try out. I also like experimenting with new software programs that we utilize in crash reconstruction.

 5. What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I like to enjoy the outdoors. This could be anything from hiking to rock climbing, to going camping with my girlfriend and dogs. I also like to check out the new breweries around town with some friends.

As we reflect on the four years with Mr. McCoy, we express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional work and commitment to excellence that Mr. McCoy has consistently demonstrated.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate continued growth and success together.
